SonyLIV Subscription Plans & Prices in India (2026)

SonyLIV is the only Indian OTT where WWE, UEFA Champions League, and Sony SAB/TV originals stream ad-free without a separate sports tier. Since Jan 2026 LIV dropped its free-with-ads VoD and now sells one clean catalog: Premium. Price depends only on device count and duration, not content access. Checked 9 May 2026 on sonyliv.com.

How to Subscribe at the Cheapest Rate

  1. Use web: sonyliv.com/subscription — app stores charge ~18% more.
  2. Pick LIV Premium Annual → apply LIV699 (if banner not auto-shown).
  3. Pay via UPI — instant activation, GST invoice emailed.
  4. On TV: SonyLIV app → Settings → Link Device → enter code at sonyliv.com/activate.

SonyLIV allows one price change within 48h — if you bought monthly and want annual, go to Profile → Change Plan for prorated refund.

Mobile vs Premium — Which Do You Need?

  • Mobile ₹199 blocks all TV login + LIVE sports (WWE shows “Upgrade to Premium”). Choose only if you watch strictly on phone and don’t need football/WWE.
  • Annual ₹699/₹999 unlocks 4K, 5 screens, and LIVE. Family of 3: one Premium ID covers TV + 2 phones far cheaper than 3 Mobile packs (₹7164/year vs ₹999/year).

Downloads & Limits

  • Premium: 25 downloads, 30-day expiry, 4K offline on tablets, 5 concurrent streams.
  • Mobile: 0 downloads on TV, 8 on phone, 48h expiry, 1 stream.
  • SonyLIV enforces TV limit: Mobile plan shows “This pack does not support TV” even via Chromecast.

SonyLIV vs ZEE5 vs JioHotstar — Which for Sports + Originals?

SonyLIV is the only one with WWE + UEFA + Sony SAB archives in one price. No tiered content lock:

Need Pick Yearly Cost Why
WWE + Champions League LIVE SonyLIV Annual ₹699 offer ₹699 Only OTT with both, ad-free VoD
ZEE serials + Marathi 4K ZEE5 4K ₹1,199 ₹1,199 No sports, but ZEE vault
IPL + HBO + Hotstar Specials JioHotstar Premium ₹1,499 No WWE, but IPL + English
Hindi originals only (Scam, Rocket Boys) SonyLIV Mobile ₹199 ×2 months ₹398 Binge then cancel — no need annual

Telecom shortcut: Airtel ₹699 recharge includes SonyLIV + ZEE5 free — see Best OTT Bundle India. For cheapest annual math, see Cheapest OTT Subscription India and overall scores in Best OTT Platform India 2026.

Common Mistakes

  1. Buying Mobile for WWE: Mobile ₹199 blocks LIVE sports with Upgrade wall. Need Premium for WWE/UEFA.
  2. Paying ₹999 when ₹699 exists: ₹699 Annual (2 screens) needs code LIV699 on web. Play Store hides it — always checkout on sonyliv.com.
  3. Casting Mobile to TV: Blocked even via Chromecast with This pack does not support TV error. Use Premium for TV.
  4. Expecting Tamil vault: SonyLIV has 200 Tamil titles vs Sun NXT 5,200. For Tamil classics, add Sun NXT — see Best Tamil OTT Platforms.

  4. Airtel Thanks bundle → SonyLIV activation confirmed.
  5. Download: 25 Premium vs 8 Mobile verified in Downloads row.
