Why Only JioHotstar?
Maddock Films sold Stree Universe OTT rights to JioHotstar for 4 years (until Sep 2028). The Prime/Apple rent is a transactional window (₹199) — you pay per watch, not included with Prime.
Device, Quality & Price — Super vs Premium?
Stree 2 is 4K with bright horror-comedy colours. Super is enough for most TVs:
| Plan | Price | Stree 2 Quality | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| JioHotstar Mobile ₹149/mo | ₹149 | 720p, 1 phone, no TV | Phone-only cheapest |
| Super ₹499/year | ₹499 | Full HD 1080p, 2 TVs | Best value for family TV |
| Premium ₹1,499/year | ₹1,499 | 4K + Dolby 5.1, 4 screens | 4K TV + IPL + HBO bundle |
All three include the same Hindi + 3 dubs. Premium only matters for 4K. For bundle math, see Cheapest OTT Subscription India and Best OTT Bundle India.
Stree 1 streams on both Prime Video and JioHotstar — watch Stree 1 on either before Stree 2 for the Sarkata connection. Stree 2 itself is JioHotstar exclusive included.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Paying Prime rent ₹199: Prime rent is transactional (48h), not included. JioHotstar Super ₹499/year gives unlimited rewatches + 4K option.
- Expecting Malayalam dub: No Malayalam track exists. Use Hindi + English subs.
- Using old Hotstar app: Update to blue JioHotstar app — old Disney+ Hotstar login fails for Super plans.
- Casting Mobile to TV: Mobile blocks TV. Super unlocks TV login.
